WARWICK, Rhode Island – As reported by the Providence Journal: "The City Council tonight will consider a resolution opposing a casino in West Warwick as potentially damaging to local businesses and the well-being of residents. "The resolution, sponsored by Democrat Steve Merolla and Republican Sue Stenhouse, contends that the proposed Narragansett Indian casino would not bring in new dollars but instead cause 'a redistribution of discretionary income already in the local economy.'
