Calder Race Course concluded its 112-day Calder Meet on Sunday, Oct. 15, with gains in average daily inter-track , intra-state and combined mutuel handle.

News Brief: Calder Race Course said it will open its 2006 season Tuesday, April 25 and hold racing each week through Jan. 2.

Calder Race Course ended its 120-day Calder meet on Sunday, Oct. 16, and started its 59-day Tropical at Calder season on Monday.

The installation of slot machines in Florida's Broward County could adversely affect Calder Race Course in Miami, as well as racing and breeding interests throughout Kentucky.

Calder Race Course reports average daily on-track attendance for the 2004/05 Tropical at Calder meet was 4,408, representing an 8.5-percent decrease from the previous year's average of 4,816.

Overall, the Calder meet showed declines in attendance and wagering, but the Festival of the Sun and the Summit of Speed, Calder's popular day of sprint stakes in July, once again proved to be successful events.
