Previously slated for a December 2020 launch, the 1.25 million-square-foot casino-resort will open with its first five floors of amenities and parking hub ahead of schedule to Downtown Las Vegas.

In an effort to stimulate tourism, Derek Stevens, owner of The D and Golden Gate casinos, gave away one-way flights to Las Vegas last week, saying, "Our community needs you. We're just trying to do our share. Keep America flying, keep Las Vegas rolling."

The Las Vegas-based operator has partnered with Century Casinos and will be available for download in Colorado when sports betting is expected to begin in May.

The 1.25 million-square-foot, 777-room property will stand as the tallest structure north of the Las Vegas Strip.

Developed by Derek and Greg Stevens, Circa will be the first ground-up property to open in Downtown Las Vegas in decades, featuring 777 rooms and suites, the longest outdoor bar on Fremont Street Experience, a spa, a two-level casino and a stadium-style sportsbook with "the biggest screen in sportsbook history."

With the sale and impending closing of Mermaids Casino, La Bayou and Girls of Glitter Gulch, Downtown Las Vegas will once again lose some of its nostalgia, making way for a more modern resort casino.

Much of a casino owner's lawsuit that included a broad challenge to the way the Fremont Street Experience is governed has been dismissed.
