Eldorado Resorts' acquisition of MGM's holdings in Reno for $72.5 million will give the company a 32% share of the hotel rooms in the city.

Derek Stevens, who also owns The D Las Vegas and the recently closed Las Vegas Club, purchased the remaining share of the Golden Gate from Mark Brandenburg, whose family founded the casino.

Downtown gaming revenue has increased in eight consecutive months, including September's 9% jump.

The 86-year-old sports-themed casino located downtown has more than 400 shuttered hotel rooms.

Spain has more than 200,000 slot machines countrywide. The payouts are not life-changing for the customers, and the gaming revenue doesn't move the needle for operators.
