There were new slot games that came out and jackpot winners left and right, but no story was bigger than two Atlantic City casinos celebrating their grand opening on Thursday.

Both the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Ocean Resort Casino officially opened their doors to great fanfare on Thursday, with the hope that the pair of lavish properties on the famed Boardwalk will revitalize the area.

DAER Nightclub will open 28 June in tandem with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City’s opening weekend celebration which includes Pitbull and Carrie Underwood live in concert.

All 1,331 rooms and suites of the Atlantic City property -- as well as a new choice of food and entertainment venues -- will be open in time for next week's grand openings of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Ocean Resort Casino.
