In March 2016, Pence signed a bill that regulated online daily fantasy sports (DFS). The law requires operators wishing to offer contests in the state to pay a $50,000 licensing fee with a $5,000 renewal, which could be increased to as much as $75,000 annually. Oversight of the games will be handled by the state gaming commission, and fantasy sports are designated as a game of skill under the law.
