After Governor Laura Kelly’s announcement last week that sports wagering in Kansas will begin with a soft launch starting at noon on Thursday, 1 September, followed by a full opening on 8 September.

Two weeks ago, Massachusetts made the announcement that a sports betting bill passed. Yesterday, we had an announcement from Kansas about its launch date for sports wagering, just in time for the start of the NFL season.

Governor Laura Kelly today announced that sportsbooks at the four state-owned casinos can begin accepting wagers in person and on mobile platforms starting 1 September and will officially open 8 September.

Boot Hill Casino and Resort in Dodge City and Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel in Pittsburg will both resume operations in time for the Memorial Day Weekend.
