Beginning today, all bettors in The Bluegrass State can visit up to nine in-person locations to place their legal wagers on a host of sporting events.

This week, Kentucky moved a step closer to sports betting as The Bluegrass State issued licenses for both land-based and online sportsbooks.

Churchill Downs Incorporated announced that the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission has approved temporary licenses for six CDI properties to begin accepting in-person sports wagers on Thursday, 7 September.

The historical racing machines will appear across Churchill Downs locations in Kentucky, including Derby City Gaming, Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, Newport Racing & Gaming and Turfway Park Racing & Gaming when it opens in 2022.

To celebrate its grand opening, Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and Hotel made four donations of $3,500 each to area nonprofits with operations near the property.
