Michigan Charitable Gaming

Charitable gaming has been legal in Michigan since 1972, when the Traxler-McCauley-Law-Bowman Bingo Act created the division as part of the Michigan State Lottery.

Licensed charitable organizations are allowed to offer Millionaire Parties (Vegas Night), bingo and poker tournaments.

In 2012, an executive order reassigned regulation of Millionaire Parties to the executive director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB). Regulation of other forms of charitable gaming, such as bingo and raffles, remains with the Michigan Bureau of State Lottery's Charitable Gaming Division.
