New Hampshire Sports Betting

In April 2019, bill H 480 was sent to the Senate Committee on Ways and Means. The bill, which allows legal sports betting at 10 retail locations and statewide through a mobile operator overseen by the New Hampshire Lottery Commission, began when Gov. Chris Sununu included New Hampshire sports betting language in his 2020-21 budget proposal.

In July 2019, Gov. Sununu signed the bill into law, making sports betting legal in New Hampshire.

Mobile sports betting launched in New Hampshire in December 2019. Wagering on collegiate teams and collegiate games taking place in New Hampshire is prohibited. Sports betting in the state is regulated by the New Hampshire Lottery Commission.

The Lottery Commission selected DraftKings as the sole operating agent. The contract with the state lottery requires DraftKings to open at least four retail sports betting locations and could include up to 10.
