North Carolina Sports Betting

In July 2019, sports betting became legal in North Carolina at two tribal casinos owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians — Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel and Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort — after Governor Roy Cooper signed Senate Bill 154 into law.

In July 2021, a temporary Catawba Two Kings Casino opened in King Mountain, North Carolina. The permanent Catawba Two Kings Casino’s construction is currently delayed due to legal issues.

In September 2022, the temporary Catawba Two Kings Casino launched a 24/7 sportsbook.

In June 2023, Governor Roy Cooper enacted the sports wagering bill into law in North Carolina that opened the doors for bettors aged 21 and over to engage in betting on professional and college sports via computer, mobile app, or in-person, and it officially launched in March 2023 with regulators issuing eight licenses.
