The government addressed the growing popularity of online gambling in the Bahamas within the 2014 Gaming Act. Under the new law, land-based casinos were allowed to apply for gaming licenses that permit some in-house internet gaming. “Restrictive interactive gaming licenses" allows players to bet online or on mobile within the casino property is allowed.

Online gambling websites based in the Bahamas remain prohibited from offering cross-border services. Licensed activities are limited to in-country operations, including regulated web shop betting available to Bahamian residents.
