Salvadoran Casino and Card Room Gaming
In 1999, Congress changed its position and issued Decree 730, revoking the authorization. In 2002, Congress adopted Decrees 929 and 930, which again specified casinos are not allowed, and operating casinos must cease operations once those permits expire. Some municipalities do not comply with the order and as a result, casinos in those locations still operate.
In 2007, the government of El Salvador issued a decree banning the importation of slot machines.
