Kick things off with our Morning Workout Show from 8–10AM, featuring jockey and trainer meet-and-greets, fresh coffee, a pancake station for the kids, and an up-close look at morning workouts. Plus, go behind the scenes with our Paddock & Trackside Experience.
The fun continues from 11AM–5PM with Family Day at the races featuring favorites like pony races, a petting zoo, bounce house, face painting, food trucks and more. Live racing beginning at 12PM.

The first weekend of the Maryland State Fair was Big! Dream Big for weekend two (Sept. 3-7) and weekend three (Sept. 10-13) when you can check out thousands of baking, needlework, woodworking, photography and other exhibits, along with the Big "Maryland State Fair Celebrating America's 250th Quilt," in the 4-H/Home Arts Building. The 10 ft. x 10 ft. quilt made by long-time Fair Exhibitor Megan Harris (center) and the centerpiece logo embroidered by Stephanie Sanders (left) was presented to Maryland State Fair & Agricultural Society Board Chairwoman Mary Amoss (right) and other board members. The quilt was made with 30 yards of fabric, 38,000 feet of thread, and approximately a million and 1/2 embroidery stitches.
