Wisconsin Sports Betting

Certain tribal casinos in the state are authorized to offer sports betting pursuant to the terms of their compacts with the state. These compacts allow for remote wagering on land owned by the tribe or held in trust for the tribe by the federal government. The compacts do not allow for betting on Wisconsin college sports teams nor on the outcomes of sporting events with participants aged under 19.

In November 2021, the Oneida Nation’s main casino launched regulated sports betting after becoming the first native tribe in the state to successfully renegotiate its gaming agreement with Governor Tony Evers.

In February 2022, the tribal casino launched its own active mobile app, providing bettors with the opportunity to wager on their mobile devices in certain locations.

Wisconsin is home to 10 other tribes which could attempt to similarly update their gaming agreements with the state.
