Arkansas Charitable Gaming

In March 2005, the state legislature debated a measure that would allow nonprofit groups to operate bingo games for charitable purposes beginning in 2007. In July 2007, legislation was approved to allow charities to offer bingo.

Arkansas allows charities to run bingo games and sell raffle tickets to raise money for charitable purposes. Charitable gaming is regulated by the Department of Finance and Administration. The government receives revenue from bingo distributors equal to a one-cent tax per bingo sheet sold and a 10% tax on all bingo equipment.
